Big Ant Developer Automation and QA Prototyping

Modernized studio automation and developer tools, and extended an inherited Discord QA prototype that remains unfinished.

My role

Migrated legacy scripts, improved developer commands, and took over substantial development of an unfinished QA tool.

What it solves

Legacy scripts and build workflows needed maintenance; the inherited QA tool needed further development.

What it delivers

  • Modernized internal build and validation workflows in the CSX toolchain.
  • Extended existing developer tools without claiming their original authorship.
  • QA additions remain unfinished; this is not an unattended-testing delivery.

Key decisions

  • Migrated Python scripts to CSX and improved build and validation workflows.
  • Extended existing developer commands with project discovery and reusable launch settings.
  • Took over the Discord QA tool and expanded networking, reconnection, control and reporting.

Proprietary Studio Engine

Capabilities

  • Python-to-CSX migration of legacy automation
  • Build-chain, commit and validation workflow improvements
  • Improvements to existing developer command tooling
  • Networking and reporting work on an unfinished QA prototype

Further decisions

  • Wrote internal technical documentation with agent assistance and peer review.

I modernized existing scripts and developer commands, then took over an existing Discord QA tool and added control and reporting work. The prototype remains unfinished; live-gameplay playtesting is a possible future direction.
